Creation and the Human Problem
God created life and humanity for relationship with him. Sin brought corruption, separation, and death. Chapter 1 of The Salvation of God explains why salvation must address more than isolated mistakes: the whole human condition needs God's rescue.
The Promise of Restoration
God did not abandon his purpose. Through covenant, Israel, kings, prophets, and promises, Scripture develops the hope of a Redeemer and restored people. Chapter 2 follows this expectation and its reach to the nations.
Explore the Protoevangelium, Scripture's first promise after the fall in its Genesis setting and wider biblical development.
The language of covenant responsibility, rescue, and restored belonging is developed in what Redeemer means in the Bible.
The Messiah Who Was to Come
The New Testament identifies the promised Redeemer as the Messiah. Chapter 3 examines his identity and mission. He announces God's kingdom, reveals the Father, calls people to repentance, and describes himself as the door and the way to God.
The Cross Within God's Purpose
Chapter 4 examines the opposition and plot that led to the Redeemer's death. His death is not presented as the defeat of God's plan but as central to atonement, forgiveness, and reconciliation.
Read Isaiah 53 and the suffering servant for a contextual study of suffering, sin-bearing, and vindication.
Resurrection and Life
Chapter 5 centers the resurrection. God raised the promised Redeemer from the dead, confirming the gospel and establishing the hope of new and eternal life. Salvation answers not only guilt but death itself.
The Gift of the Holy Spirit
God gives the Holy Spirit to convict, teach, guide, strengthen, and transform believers. Chapter 7 shows that salvation creates a living relationship with God rather than merely changing a legal status.
A Holy and Persevering People
Chapter 8 warns that sin deceives. Grace calls believers into repentance, obedience, love, and endurance. Good works are not the price of salvation; they are the prepared path of those made new (Ephesians 2:8–10).
Judgment and Restoration
Chapter 9 brings the story to God's righteous judgment and the return of Messiah. Evil will not be ignored forever. The resurrection and final restoration give hope, while judgment gives urgency to the call to repent and believe.
